God gave each animal instinct.

Instinct tells an animal what to do.

 

Each kind of animal is different from every other kind of animal.

Can a baby kitten grow up to be a dog?

            No, kittens will always grow up to be cats!

 

Some baby animals are born.

Almost all animals that are born drink MILK from their mothers.

 

Baby bears are born in the winter. Why?

            This is the time when the mother bears are hibernating.

What does it mean to hibernate?

            To hibernate means to sleep through the winter.

 

            Baby bears are born in winter while Mother Bear is in her cave. When they are born, the bear cubs are not bigger than kittens. They are blind and helpless. They eat and sleep and grow for many weeks beside their mother.

 

How many mice can a mouse have?

            Up to nine at the same time!

What is the size of a baby mouse?
            The mouse is no bigger than a jellybean when he is born!

 

What is one of the biggest babies?

            The Blue Wheal is one of the biggest babies when it’s born.

            He is as big as an elephant when born!

                        When he grows up he will grow to be 30-50 elephants put together!

 

Name two animals that live in pockets.

            Opossums & Kangaroos

Mom Opossum can have up to 18-20 babies at a time!

            They are the size of a dime!

 

A baby kangaroo is called a joey.

 

Could baby opossums and baby kangaroos live if their mothers did not have a pouch? Why, or why not?

 

Know the life Cycle of a Frog.

  1. Egg
  2. Tadpole
  3. Back legs grow
  4. Front legs grow
  5. Tail gets shorter
  6. Jumps out of the water.

 

What is the elephants nose called?
The nose of the elephant is called a trunk!

 

Is the trunk the elephant’s mouth?
 No!

 

When the Elephant wants to drink water, how does it use its trunk to drink?
It uses its trunk like a straw. It does not swallow the water through the trunk, but it uses it to blow the water into its mouth!

 

God gave the elephant small eyes. So, to help him know that danger is coming God gave the elephant:

a.       Big ears to hear things approach.

b.      A large, powerful nose, to smell danger!

Flat feet that feel the vibrations of the animals that are getting closer.
