Nicole Hawley

Welcome!

I am very excited to being my second year of teaching here at Faustina Academy. I graduated from the University of Dallas in 2007 with a BA in Chemistry. During my time at UD, I taught a Biology Lab for three years. Last year I taught science to grades 5-9 as well as Algebra ½ and Algebra I.

Students seem to learn science best through experiencing it through hands on experiments. Learning abstract concepts is best done through comparing it to something tangible. To that end, it is my goal to do as many demonstrations and experiments as I will be able to while still covering the material in the text. Throughout the school year, if you have suggestions for demonstrations or field trips pertaining to the material we are covering, please bring them to my attention. I am always open to suggestions.
