All Saints Day Report and Presentation

Dear Parents,

As you know,  All Saints Day is just around the corner and to celebrate, the children will be dressing up as Saints!  In addition to dressing up, I would like the students to write a mini “report” for the special day.  It needs to be handwritten, and at least two paragraphs long.  They also need to submit a colored picture that they have drawn of the Saint.

On All Saints Day, the children will get up in front of the class to tell the rest of the class about their Saint.  The students will have to speak for about one minute, and the students will be in costume!  I would like to invite parents to come and see the children present their Saints.  I will send home more information as we draw nearer to the due date.  Thank you for all of your cooperation!  I’m looking forward to learning about many great Saints from the students! J God Bless You,

Mrs. Quinonez

Saint Report Guidelines

Make sure to include these in your report! *The name of your Saint. *Where the Saint lived. *Was your Saint a priest/nun/husband/or wife?  *Were there any special things that your Saint did? *Why you chose the Saint, and what you like about your Saint. *Your report must be handwritten in your BEST printing!  Make sure to take your time to spell all your words correctly.  *You will have three pieces of paper in this report:           *Your cover page.  It will have the title of your report and your name.          *Your report.          *A picture that you drew and colored of your Saint.

Good luck!

Bee Study Guide (Science)

When a bee lands on a flower pollen from the flower sticks to the bee’s legs.

Pollen falls off the legs of the bee and into the next flower it visits.  Without bees we would have no fruit, such as apples or peaches.

Bees that do all the work in the hive are called Worker Bees.

Worker Bees make “Bee Milk” or jelly to feed baby bees and the Queen.

Worker Bees also guard the hive and make honey from nectar.

Worker Bees protect the hive from enemies.  When they pull the stinger out of the enemy, they die.

In the summer, bees make an air conditioner by moving their wings.

They keep the honeycomb from melting by sprinkling water over it.

In the winter, bees make a heater.

The bees make a ball and in the middle of the ball they eat honey. They shake their wings to make heat.

It takes about 300 bees their whole lives to make one pound of honey.
